Editorial Policy
This policy explains how Home Cost Atlas creates, reviews, and updates cost content so homeowners can understand what is editorial—and what is not.
Content review
Cost guides, calculators, and homeowner articles are reviewed for clarity, internal consistency, and alignment with our published methodology. We prioritize practical planning language over promotional claims. We do not invent named experts, professional affiliations, or certifications.
Data updates
National ranges and related assumptions are revisited on a recurring review cadence. When market conditions, scope assumptions, or presentation change meaningfully, we update the affected pages and adjust last-reviewed dates where shown. Details of how ranges are constructed appear on our methodology page.
Corrections
If you find an error, unclear assumption, or outdated figure, contact us at contact@homecost-atlas.com. Material corrections are reviewed and, when confirmed, corrected on the relevant page. We may also clarify wording when a passage is accurate but easy to misread.
No paid ranking
Home Cost Atlas does not sell placement in cost rankings, category order, calculator results, or editorial recommendations. We do not operate a paid contractor leaderboard.
Editorial vs. advertising
Editorial cost information is produced independently of advertising relationships. If the site displays ads, sponsorships, or affiliate links in the future, those placements will be labeled where practical and will not determine our published cost ranges or methodology. Advertising partners do not control our editorial conclusions.
